Thomas is a Lawyer in Mills Oakley’s Intellectual Property team based in Sydney.
Thomas works across a variety of IP areas particularly trade marks and copyright. Thomas oversees a large number of trade mark portfolios for clients that range from tech start-ups, famiy run businesses, health/pharmaceautical companies and larger global corporations. Thomas also has a keen interest in copyright protection for artistic works.
Thomas has a passion for intellectual property law which was sparked through his studies in Media at Macquarie University, and Cinematography at the Australian Film, Television & Radio School. This passion was further enhanced through his experience working in the tech, media and broadcasting industries, in both legal and non-legal capacities. This included some time working within the ABC’s legal team and in the camera department on a number of productions, particularly the film Felony written by Joel Edgerton. Thomas has also produced his own films, which have premiered at festivals around Australia. It follows that Thomas has a keen interest in scriptwriting, film making and photography.
