About me

I am a budding, older actor who decided to pursue acting late in life for fun and expression. I am a former special forces commando and best known for setting up a charity to rescue children from sex trafficking in SE Asia. I am also an ordained Zen Buddhist monk on the slow path to enlightenment:-) At this stage in my life I simply want to enjoy the time I have with like minded people and do something worthwhile. I work as an anthropologist and got into it because I spent many years teaching survival to people from all walks of life and decided to do a degree that involved studying tribal people. I never thought I would end up working as an anthropologist but I did. My main interest right now is acting and Preying mantis Kung Fu. I was also involved in the medieval movement for many years, playing the role of a mamelulke turk and making my own armour and weapons. great fun. I love nothing more than to watch re-runs of stargate and stargate atlantis with my daughter while eating nachos…the best.

Quotes that inspire

Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society inspires me.

My favourite quote is:

From the emptiness we come
To the emptiness we go
Our life is but a spark in the night
Our death but the setting of the sun
Since heaven and earth’s beginning
This has always been the way
What then is the cause for fear

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
